I am 15 days out, and I will tell you what I eat:

Egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, all made with Smart Beat fat free mayo, onion powder, garlic powder. One scoop per meal. Chopped liver.

Fish fillets: salmon teriyaki, broiled fish, fish baked at 350 degrees for 10-15 min is usually great. Just olive oil, salt, pepper. Lemon is good too.

pureed oatmeal. I am ok with just chewing it a lot in my mouth.

Egg beaters or egg white omelettes with cheese, salsa, pureed vegetables, and combos of things.

Chili and stews

I have also had on occasion hash browns, the mushy part that is pureed.

I am 17 days post surgery. For Breakfast, I eat cottage cheese and a half of a smashed up banana. For lunch I eat canned tuna, with Pickle Juice, and light mayo, finely blended. For dinner I have canned chicken with fat free gravy blended up and a little bit of mashed potatoes. All the meats go in the food processor. I've lost 13 lbs. since being banded! You are doing great as well! Good luck!

Some things I like:

Baked potato no skin with 2 wedges melted Laughing cow cheese and some steamed broccoli chopped fine stirred in.

Mashed great northern canned Beans seasoned with chopped ham.

Scrambled eggs with melted Laughing Cow wedges, finely chopped ham or bacon, or Jimmy Dean turkey sausage crumbles. Sometimes I toss in a few TBL of refrigerated hash browns.

When I make meatballs for the family, I freeze a few for me. I thaw and finely chop and stir them into Pasta sauce. I take a small baking ramekin and plop in ricotta, sprinkle parm and parsley and garlic powder, top with the meatball sauce and bake in my toaster oven. Top with more parm and a pinch of mozz.

I like finely chopped rotisserie chic mixed with 1/2 n 1/2 blend of Greek yogurt and lite mayo, and whatever seasonings, add some tiny diced celery, just enough for crunch.

I love Laughing cow cheese and I definatley take these meal ideas and apply.... I feel really lost with this. I think because it hurts going down I am afraid of eating. It's sad but sweets go down with no problem and I dont want to go back to old habits... I really want to be sucessful in this journey.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
