Lunalove 0 Posted December 2, 2010 I'm 3 weeks post op mushy foods stage. I had a veggie omelette this morning and 30 min. later I started feeling like if I have a lump in my throat...It went away for a bit and when I started my liquid intake the feeling came back! I'm really freaking out! Has anyone experience this feeling?

LapBandBobbi 8 Posted December 2, 2010 Make sure you're chewing your food good - even the mushy stuff. Maybe take smaller bites and when you begin to feel full or start to get that lump - stop eating. Hang in there.
jingleboob 5 Posted December 2, 2010 I actually can't eat any kind of eggs with my band. They always get stuck, no matter how mushy or runny I make them. Bummed. Lump in throat is a step before being stuck for me...

Has anyone experience this feeling? hi newbie ! i am 5 weeks post op and when i had this feeling it is because i ate too much, too fast - even mushy foods can do this. when you drink, the feeling could be because you are drinking too soon after eating, or because you might be drinking too fast. this is just what i have found. i slowed down with eating - smaller fork fulls, eat slower etc and it worked for me. good luck and if it continues then call your nurse or doctor.
