stolee123 0 Posted December 1, 2010 Hi, Cigna policy states weight watchers is an "accepted alternative" if done in conjunction with the supervision of a physician do you need to provide the weight watchers stamped book of attendance and then proof that you had doctor visits as well? I am a little confused as to what will satisfy requirements. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I am a little confused as to what will satisfy requirements. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! hi - I have Cigna and my surgery was approved. I had to visit my primary care physician for 6 months, show previous diets and that I could not lose and maintain weight loss ( which my PCP documented). I also had to have a BMI of over 35 with co-morbidities, visit a shrink and a nutritionist. It took ove 8 months for all the pre-cert to be completed, but I am now 30 pounds lighter and didn't have to self-pay. Good luck!
bobrocky 8 Posted February 21, 2011 Does Cigna require a before or after fitness program? I'm referring to a gym or trainer program. I've heard some insurances do.
