I survived my first fill!

Recommended Posts

So--today was my first fill. I was worried about nothing! I apparently have a good amount of scar tissue but it wasn't a big deal.

I have 3 cc in my 10cc band. I go back in two weeks for another tweak. So far, no issues eating....I had a yogurt and blended food tonight.

Phew......I am glad that is behind me.

Now...to they gym I go......

YaY! Congrats!

My first fill was today too! 6.4 cc's in a 10 cc band. Doc has me on liquids for 24 hours, so not sure how eating will go, but so far, I can't feel any restriction at all with my shakes. How about you? Feel any different?

Nice job on the pre-fill weight loss. Keep it up girl!

Congrats to you both on your weight loss. I had my first fill on 11/27/10. My bad is 14CC and the Dr added 4 CC. The fill didn't hurt @ all. I haven't felt any restrictions yet but i'm just now back on mushy foods

Hi,

I am not sure about restriction or not.....I don't really feel different, although I do feel satisfied for longer.

I am on mushies for 2 days, then soft food for 2 days, then "normal" eating.

Congrats on your success so far!

I'm so glad to see that your first fill was no big deal. I have my first one tomorrow. I am so hoping to feel some restriction. I have been so hungry for the past week. I was fine the first 5 weeks, and then one morning I woke up and thought to myself, "geez, I could eat a whole side of beef or something!". I have restrained myself (lost 28.5 lbs since surgery on Oct 19th), but did probably eat a little too much chicken tonight.:(

Great job keeping yourself in check. VERY hard to do. I told my husband a couple days ago I was contemplating eating his arm off while laying in bed. I was SO HUNGRY! Great that you are making good food choices and ate a little too much chicken, not a piece of pie. Kuddos.

Not sure if my first fill did anything today because I'm still on liquids, but I can say that the Protein powder is keeping me satisfied, so maybe that's a good sign? I will say, it was almost painless (the fill I mean). I was nervous all morning, and then it was NOTHING when it happened. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
