SeattleLady 277 Posted June 9, 2019 I’m off to see the doc in July about this ... I hope solution is not another surgery - I can’t afford it ! Maybe an un fill will solve this . My original surgeon said the band may naturally tighten by itself over the years so maybe that’s what’s happened . Time will tell Hoping for the best for you. Let's know what next for you! jadeesmjk 8 Posted June 13, 2019 I just went to the doc for this today! Got a complete unfill, waiting to see if symptoms resolve. I'm hoping so because Ido not want to do another surgery..... Banded in AZ 4 Posted June 22, 2019 Yes --- and I revised from Realize Band (6/2009) to a VSG 8 weeks ago. I was surprised because 10 years ago I was self-pay for the band --- and I have been saving money in my HSA because I feared that it would have to come out one day and I would be self pay again. My surgeon submitted the insurance request based on my reflux and the damage that had been done to my esophagus -- not necessarily for remediation of obesity --- and I got approved for the removal/revision within a week. 1 1 Frustr8 and gabybab reacted to this
Size66 7 Posted July 9, 2019 So I finally saw my surgeon yesterday . He said what I explained were classic symptoms of a over tight band - it can self tighten over the 4 years since my last fill . My band had 8 mil in he’s reduced to 4 and we will build up over time to maybe 6.5 or 7 as 8 is too much for me ! Results ? Fantastic , no reflux no coughing no vomiting more sleep - a success at £200 gbp
Size66 7 Posted August 11, 2019 I had this problem for a year and it was pretty severe . Most foods bounced back with slime . Even Water could only be taken by sipping . Eventually had an infill , 4 m taken out of an 8 m fill = instant relief , no acid no vomit no night cough etc etc full nights sleep BUT , 10 pounds gain - eating everything in sight 😡
berry girl 2 Posted September 27, 2019 For a couple of years now there have been reports of the danger of heartburn drugs/PPI blockers like zantac that are commonly used to help with the side effects of gastric surgery. Today Canada officially recalled these drugs due to their link to cancer. Personally, I am completely dependent on these drugs due to the acid reflux side effect of my gastric sleeve. If you use these prescriptions daily, I strongly urge you to contact your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. https://healthycanadians.gc.ca/recall-alert-rappel-avis/hc-sc/2019/70989a-eng.php?utm_source=hs_email&utm_medium=email&utm_content=77363999&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-8zLyVDfQD8I8hCu3-XeY7Fh97rFTkpD6v27F37TI29RzLKaNdKiDz_TiM1BKOzRo_NfiS6IqmuYpTuPc_HRfMUlmpaxA&_hsmi=77363999 image-0.00596046447753906.jpg
