gotmyeyeontheprize 2 Posted November 28, 2010 .....trying to figure out what to eat. For the past few weeks, I have been searching the internet trying to find recipes to make that will suit my requirements. It just seems so hard to try to find things that are within my limits. My surgeon allows 600 calories a day, 20 grams of Protein per meal, 3 meals a day with no snacking, and no red meat, pork, bread, Pasta, rice, potatoes, or fruit. Trying to stay in these limits is a difficult task. I know this is not a recipe or meal idea forum, but I haven't had a lot of luck on that forum. So, does anyone have any recipe suggestions? MsJeannetteA 0 Posted November 29, 2010 You can have omelets, Soups, stir fry chicken, Protein shakes. I'm not understanding "no fruit" as I was able to have frozen fruit in my Protein Shakes. There are so many choices to eat things once your doctor gives you clearance after the soft food stage.
gotmyeyeontheprize 2 Posted November 29, 2010 How do you make your Protein Shakes? I am very interested in a good recipe. I don't understand the no fruit either except that fruit contains a lot of sugar. So, that may be why he doesn't allow it. Also, do you mind sharing what you add to your omelet and how you make your stir fry chicken? Both of those sounds yummy!
chica125kml 0 Posted November 29, 2010 I was told no raw fruits or vegetables for the first three months because they do not digest easily. I have found some good recipes on www.realizemysuccess.com
nomorejellybelly 77 Posted November 30, 2010 I think it sounds like too few calories. Your body will think it's not getting enough and it might backfire on you. How long ago were you banded? I think after two or three weeks after I was banded (09/08/10), I started trying different foods. I've not had a problem eating anything, I just make sure I chew whatever it is I am eating, really well and it seems to work. Good luck to you.

RandomRan 1 Posted November 30, 2010 WOW! 600 is LOW! I have a quick, easy, kill-the-sweet-tooth-craving favorite that is only 50 calories, low carb/low fat. Scoop out 1/3 of a small can of pumkin (not pumpkin pie filling), mix in pumpkin Pie Spice seasoning (it has nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon ...) and Splenda to taste. It tastes EXACTLY like pumpkin pie with no crust and pumpkin is a healthy vegetable to boot!
