Incision Question

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 11/22. I've been good so far...but today some of the glue they used over my incisions fell off. Now, my incision is stinging. Has anyone else had this? The pre-op RN told me that the glue would take 2 - 3 weeks to come off. I'm barely at 1...

The incision site is NOT red, swelling, leaking, inflammed, no sign of an infection. It's just stinging. HELP!!!! Don't know if I should call my surgeon or if this is just something normal.

TIA

I had my surgery on 11/22 too, but did not have any glue on my incisions that I know of. My incisions have steri-strips over them, and I was told they would come off between 2-3 weeks. One of mine came off on Friday and the incision is closed and fine. When I had gallbladder surgery a few years ago, one of my incisions actually opened back up some. So, I simply used a butterfly closure to "seal" it back shut. You may want to try that.

Tia I would call the office just to play it safe, thats what they are there for. My Dr always told me that no question is a dumb question!!! The reassurance will help

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
