kerpley 0 Posted November 27, 2010 I was banded on November 2nd I have lost over 50lbs so far and after surgery I felt good but as the days went by I started to get pain in my lower back and it hurts a lot when I attempt to walk or stand up straight. When I am able to walk longer than 5 min's I sometimes get hit by pain in my lower back that feels like my back is slipping and when this happens it feels like I am going to hit the floor. I have read that it is because the weight that I had that is no longer there has caused my body to re adjust because the support that the weight provided is not there. If this is the case how long can I expect to have this pain ? Also has anyone had this happen to them? I have also heard that it could be from lack of Protein and I wonder if I increase the amount of Protein I eat if that will help? I know I am supposed to be walking every day but with this pain I can't walk longer than 10 min tops without having to sit down. Any help would be great
trishfish 1 Posted November 27, 2010 I would definitley seek a chirpractor. the weight loss could be causing stuff to shift and the chiro can keep you aligned and feeling well!

trishfish 1 Posted November 28, 2010 I'm a massage therapist and I have seen the dramatic ways chiropractic care can work! when you were heavier what could have been going on is the extra weight or fat was holding your spine in a way that was either incorrect and your body got used to it....so now your spine is positioned correctly and you need to get adjustments toget your body to understand. another reason it could be hurting is you injured it when you were heavy but the excess fat kept your spine aligned and now that that fat is gone, your spine no longer has that support. find a chirppractor who has a massage therapist on staff. my insurance covers an hour massage if I get an adjustment before or after. hope you get to feeling better soon!!!
