GREAT product for Protein that I found!

Recommended Posts

So I'm trying to get 60 grams of Protein in a day which is so difficult. So I was at GNC on Friday planning to buy a ton of Isopure drinks which have 40grams and over 2.00 per bottle. But I saw this little 4oz tube that says 42grams of protein. 0 sugar. 0 fat. So I bought every single one they had. I still have to do a shake as well to make 60 but this is an awesome little product that gives me 42 of my 60 grams.

The downside is that it taste horrible. It's sour and yuck... but I only have to drink 3.4 oz of the stuff so 3 big gulps and it's done. They are available online too or maybe your local GNC has them they were only .87 cents a piece!

It's called New whey.

Here's a link:http://www.fitness-connection.com/New-Whey-42-IDS-p/new-whey.htm

Be careful who you buy from because I read on Amazon that some people say they have it in stock but do not.

We call them bullets. But your body can only absorb so much protien at a time so drink ½ at a time and the other later in the day. My Dr. made me stop using them as he wanted me eating protien and not drinking it as that is how the Lapband is designed to be used. Walmart also sells them.

I haven't had any problem with getting my protein in, maybe because I haven't had a fill yet. I also bought one of those little protein pack tubes. I have it in the fridge downstairs. i hadn't tried it yet. But I got mine from Wal-Mart. I also agree that the Isopure is great!

Thanks for the advice! I'll keep that in mind.

I can't eat anything right now so these are just going to hold me over while I'm on the puree/mush diet and then hoping to eat my protein!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
