Do you eat Soup?

Im just wondering if any of you find Soup to be a "no-no" because it is so liquidy or if you do get full from it. Im a few weeks post op and wondering if soup is still a viable option for me.

I eat Soup often. It depends on your restriction level. I have great restriction and chunky type Soups stay with me and I get full. At just a few weeks post-op the soup may go through faster, but can still be a good option for Protein (Chili).

Soup is a huge mainstay of my diet. I find that certain types of the month I have more restriction then others. This is the time that I head to Chili's and get an enchilada soup. Read the labels if you are eating canned soup and make sure you aren't getting too much msg - this causes bloating. (For me anyway.)

Yep--love it! I make my own vegetable Soup from scratch so it's full of great Vitamins. Since raw veggies and I don't seem to get along, this soup is one of the best ways for me to get my veggies. I find it quite filling. It may not last quite as long as some other foods, but like Humming Bird said, if it's a bit "chunky" it lasts longer. Though, I do try to eat the broth first and eat the veggies last (so they don't get washed away too quickly). Works for me. :)

Yes, about 80% of my meals have been some type of Soup. The majority of the times, I make my own soup. Occasionally, I'll go to Chili's or some restaurant that serves soup and salad combination. My daily intake is about 1250 calories this past year, however, I do find when I don't eat soup, I eat about 1000 calories/day which is on the low end.

I LOVE soup and eat a bowl almost everyday. At least once a week I make a big pot of homemade chicken broth to eat on its own and to use as a base in other Soups (plus, then I have the tender boiled chicken to use all week). Some favorite soups I make often are vegetable, mushroom barley, Tomato, butternut, chowders...pretty much anything that doesn't have big chunks of meat (I can't tolerate most red meats). It makes a great lunch and some nights, when my family just wants to grill steaks or burgers (or something else I can't eat), I am very happy and satisfied with a bowl of homemade soup.

Your answers are interesting. My nutritionist said to stay away from Soup, but if I absolutely had to have it, then drain off the liquid first.

I love soup...right now it's really all I can eat since I just got a fill a week ago and I'm still pretty tight. I just made some roasted garlic with potato Soup so good..

After a fill, it is the only thing that I can eat, also. But, some days, I crave mashed potato, cheese Soup. I have not had a problem eating it, and it stays with me, too. But, I can't tolerate chunky Soups, I have a tendency to not chew them. :angry:

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...
