mimi222 0 Posted November 25, 2010 I am in desperate need of help/support. I was banded on Monday afternoon. Since then I have pretty much only been able to eat ice chips and drink grape juice. Today I added popsicles and pudding to the equation. I have had diarrhea since surgery and have only been able to urinate once today. I just resumed taking my Vitamins today and I'm not sure if they made me feel worse. I feel this lump in my chest like something wants to come up but at the same time my stomach is growling to indicate that i'm hungry. What is going on with me? Am I possibly doing something wrong? bwhitty 1 Posted November 25, 2010 Have you called your doc? I've only been banded a week and haven't had any of those issues.
7Grijalva7 1 Posted November 25, 2010 I have read that diarreah is to be expected on 3-5 day post op. I am 8 days post op and never experienced that. In my binder it says to take immodium for it. Please ask ur doc first don't go by the information that was given to me by my doc. As far as the a couple of ice chips and stuff just continue to eat them. I really couldn't get anything more then 3 oz of Water a day the first couple of days. =( the next couple of days shud be better as far as being thirsty. Hi, sorry to hear and I also had similar issues a couple weeks ago. It was tough getting down liquids the first two days, but eventually got much easier as the internal swelling went down and was able to eat pudding, yogurt, etc. When I first started eating I felt a lot of pressure, which was gas and it finally came out eventually. Don't hesitate if you need to belch , it really helps. My stomach also snarled at me like I was torturing it haha, but that went away too. Hang in there and if you really feel pain or your diahrhea becomes uncontrollable I wouldn't hesitate calling your surgeon. Try to sip Water as often as you can, you may also be a bit dehydrated. Happy Thanksgiving!
