outlawav8r 0 Posted November 18, 2010 I have finally decided to make the changes I need to live healthier, I went to a seminar and have my first Dr. Appt scheduled for Dec. 9th. I am a corporate Pilot and was wanting to see if there were any other pilots on the forum that have had the Lap Band and if it affected there flying in any way? reverie 49 Posted November 19, 2010 Congrats on deciding to get banded! I'm not a pilot but I have flown with my band and everything was fine. Some people say they get a little bit tighter after flying but it may be a person-to-person case.
outlawav8r 0 Posted November 19, 2010 Thanks for your info, I fly at least 3 to 5 times a week, since it is just saline solution it should not cause any problems with a rapid decompression. I go for my initial Dr. visit on Dec. 9th.. can't wait I am so ready!
Odb003pb 0 Posted May 1, 2011 Hey, I'm currently an aviation student at Louisiana tech university an I'm wanting to get the lap band done but I'm worried about the FAA denying my medical or revoking/suspending it for any of their various reasons I was wondering if u have talked to an AME or are u fairly certain that they won't say anything or is there some loop holes an asses u had to kiss to be able to get this done.
