Ccota08 0 Posted November 18, 2010 Hey everyone. I was looking around the internet for some info on the LAP-BAND®, and stumbled across this place. I went to a seminar a couple of months ago and I'm putting much consideration into this surgery. I just wanted to learn more about it and look at some of the differences between the LAP-BAND® and the realize band. My first appointment with my potential surgeon is on December 8. I'm a bit nervous, but I also want to get this process underway. Anyway, I'm glad I found a place to talk about this with people who know what it's like. thebandedgirl 0 Posted November 18, 2010 There's not a whole lot of difference between the two types of bands. They work in the same way, there are just some physical differences between the two :blushing: This site is a great resource for asking questions and reading about others' experiences. There are also some great blogs out there--I encourage you to click on blog links in peoples' signatures on here. (I promise I'm not trying to promote my blog :w00t:)
Ccota08 0 Posted November 19, 2010 welcome! and good luck! Thanks. Im newly banded, just got it about 8 days ago. The liquid prep and 2 weeks after is rough! But im looking forward to the future and i know i made the right choice  Good luck! Yeah, I read about that phase. I can already tell I'll be struggling through it. But I'm gonna do what it takes to get to a more healthy weight. Hopefully the future holds good things for both of us. There's not a whole lot of difference between the two types of bands. They work in the same way, there are just some physical differences between the two Yeah, from what I've seen and read, it seems that way. I think I actually want to see and handle both of the bands before I make my decision, but I don't think it's gonna make too big a difference one way or the other. This site is a great resource for asking questions and reading about others' experiences. There are also some great blogs out there--I encourage you to click on blog links in peoples' signatures on here. (I promise I'm not trying to promote my blog ) That's why I'm here. The more I know to expect, the better prepared I will be to handle it.

reverie 49 Posted November 19, 2010 Just wanted to say welcome! The 2-weeks of liquids is hard, but once you're done, you look back and it really seems like nothing, especially when the scale is dropping. Best of luck to you and keep us updated.
