isaviolinist 11 Posted November 18, 2010 Hi everyone - just wondering if anyone else experiences this? I think this is really the first time I've actually gained weight during my period. I generally always experience a loss before hand (which happened this time...over 3 lost pounds in the 3 days before), but I usually don't gain and this morning the scale said I was almost 2 pounds up from my lowest before my period 3 days ago. Im trying not to get stressed out but its a little upsetting...I've been doing my regular workout (cross training or 55 minutes on the elliptical and walking) and have been sticking to 950 calories or less. Any reassurance or advice is greatly appreciated!
Mjv013 67 Posted December 1, 2010 I always gain at least 2lbs. Anywhere from 2 to 7 lbs is the norm for me. I see it go up then a day or 2 later I will be at least what I gained and a pound or two lighter. No worries. I know we are all different but its not uncommon to gain some with your period banded or not.

Then I realized it was my thread I forgot that I had posted it haha. Anyways, thanks for the input. Its frustrating because I often lose 2-3 pounds in the 2-3 days prior to my period. Then I gain some of it back :-( So its like a serious high and then a massive let down. But it does seem like the consensus that people gain weight during their period. I'll see what happens during the next one....
