At the halfway point!

Recommended Posts

I am finally at my halfway point ;) For me, this has been a slow process and I have been waiting patiently for the past 4 weeks to lose that one more pound that put me at the half way point. I'm looking forward to the rest of my journey! Just wanted to share.

Congrats, that's great! I too, just hit my halfway point. Though realistically, I will be satisfied if I lose even half of what's left. Funny that I found your post today. I had sworn off this forum, shortly after I was banded. I popped on today - just to see if there was someone out there like me....losing a little slowly, but isn't necessarily unhappy, optimistic. You were banded a month after me and we seem to be very close, I have lost 50lbs. I wish you the best with the rest of your journey!

Keep up the good work! I see you are from Indiana as well, maybe it's a mid-west thing about losing slow. But, like I said before, I'm okay with that.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
