Jumping irritate Port Site?

Recommended Posts

I have been working out pretty steady since I was 6 weeks out from surgery. It was my second time taking a class called Total Body Tune up which is modeled after the Insanity program.

We did a LOT of jumping in this particular class and I noticed my port site was starting to feel really tender during and after class so I calmed down the jumping - but have any of you ever had this problem?

My dr. said that there should be no problems with any exercise, just stop if it hurts.

Thoughts? I don't want to mess something up.

Well I'm about a year and a half out from surgery so it may be different, but we do a lot of jumping in our cross training class but so far it doesn't seem to be affecting my port at all. I don't know if your place wiLl do this, but at our place the trainers will modify exercises to suit individual needs. So maybe tell them that the jumping is tricky and see if they can suggest an alternative exercise?

Im 9 weeks post-op and recently started working out to that Wii Active game. I've noticed after the work-out , which includes running, my port site gets reallly sore. I dont know if its the port itself or just muscles in the area that havent been worked out in a long time :(

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
