So now there's a light at the end of the tunnel. You are so right - VERY glad you didnt wait til March!

How long before the the blood test results to come back?

Hey, Vines -

I am so GLAD for you that now you have something to target that should actually have an effect! Three cheers for not dropping this, and for getting to the bottom of it so it can be fixed.

HarleyNana -

The article you posted

Re-programming your thyroid to produce more T-3 cells that rapid process fat seems to be the latest in a long line of new rapid weight loss methods for the dieter who just doesn't want to diet anymore.

sounds as though they're focusing on increasing the T-3 cells - this is what the Wilsons Thyroid Syndrome treatment focuses on, but by actually supplementing with T-3.

I wish there was a doc nearby that charged reasonable prices for me to try this therapy... It really makes sense to me.

Alas... lol

I am supposed to get banded on July 25th.:clap2: I am Hypothyroid and on 224mcg. of levoxyl for 12 years. My TSH is all over the place, still! I"m tired all the time, but if my levoxyl is upped any, I can't nod off to sleep! My TSH is w/i normal range currently, but who knows what tomorrow brings? I think I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis, whatever that is. I sure hope & pray banding works for me! I"m gaining by leaps and bounds!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
