topazz 4 Posted November 13, 2010 I am 2 days post-op and am still ridding myself of gas. My arm feels so sore. It feels hot when you touch it and it almost feels like rugburn under the skin. It is the left arm, so could it be related to anything? I was in a lot of pain last night and couldn't rest my arm in a position that it would feel better. What do you think? Samaura 0 Posted November 13, 2010 Hi Topazz, I'm almost a week post-op and the arm and shoulder pain on the left side I'm seeing is a common with us, may have something to do with either eating too fast or the pressure and pain of the gas on your diaphragm transfers itself to your shoulder and creates pain. But it shouldn't be hot to the touch, that may be a sign of infection--I'd check with ur doc. My shoulder pain seems to be a signal of fullness for me... MountainMama 5 Posted November 13, 2010 Hi there. Previous poster was right, you should not feel your arm as hot to the touch or be having continuous pain. It could be a sign of infection but could also be a sign of a blood clot. I would give your surgeon a call and see what they think you need to do. I would not wait around for it to feel better. Better to er on the side of caution and nothing be wrong. Let us know how things go.
