I have cut out all carbs. I am basically living on chicken and fish. I feel like I am not loosing weight. Does any one have any diet advice. Should I go to weight watchers. Should I just do shakes. Please help..

I eat a lot of chicken and fish too. I also like lean pork loin. It comes in different flavored marinades. I like the honey mustard and terriaky. You don't say if your working out. If your not, I would start. It really works wonders for weight loss. Start slow and gradually increase your duration and/or intensity. I would also journal what you eat, then you can see what your eating. I did it on paper but lots of people like to use apps online. One is fitday.com. Hope this helps.

I don't believe in cutting out all carbs. I think it's a quick fix but not a long term solution. Your body needs carbs just like it needs a certain amount of fat. If you find the right combination of carbs, veggies, and Protein they will work together to fuel you body and you will start back losing. I try to follow the Michael Thurman's body makeover combination for my body type A. 3oz of protein, 1/4 of carb like a sweet potatoe, and 1/4 cup of greens. I can't eat it all but I do what I can. Breakfast he suggests 1/2 cup of oatmeal (good carb) and 1 egg white (protein). This really works if you follow it and drink you Water for the day. Of course working out always help.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
