The opening is nothing more wonderful. I am a new member. I feel interesting to see the name of this subject.

I want to change my body to become members of the forum. A friend introduced me to this forum. And that is a priceless gift that I received from him.

I am so excited that we found each other on here!! I go in at 6am in the morning too. St. Patricks Hospital in Missoula Montana. Surgery should start around 7:30am. 2 1/2 hours for the surgery...then recovery and they said my hubby will be able to take me home by around 1 or 2 pm. The hospital is only 20 miles from our home in Clinton, Montana. This is going to be the longest week of my life...lol.

Good luck... just wanted to let you know that the liquid diet does get easier... I was on it for 3wks pre-op..I started a wk early just to make sure I could do it... 2wks post-op, Now I only have 3 more days of liquids before I advance to mushys...Try to mix it up and don't just drink 1 flavor of Protein or you will get sick of it quickly! Campbells low-fat Cream of chicken Soup is great.. and don't forget your sugar free popsicles!!

Amy

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
