Hi all, I'm now six days post op and have managed to drop 28 lbs (including 10 days of my doctors prescribed pre-op diet). Other than this annoying as hell pain in my left shoulder I'm doing pretty well physically and was back to work Monday.

My question is in regards to soft foods. I don't know why but I'm having an extremely difficult time understanding what constitutes

"soft food". I was hoping some of you all could give me some examples of some of the soft foods you ate. I'll be moving to the soft food stage on my third week (per my physicians instructions) and want to be prepared.

Also any suggestions on portable soft foods that I can take while traveling would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

I'm in the soft foods stage and I've been eating lots of tuna, soft scrambled eggs, oatmeal and I can have a little bit of rice and Pasta. Included in this stage for me is crispy foods (ie: crackers and even well toasted bread). Refried Beans are also great. Did your doctor give you a list of foods that you can and can't have? I'd check with your doctor since it seems all doctors differ when it comes to diets.

In the soft mushie food stage I could have ricotta and cottage cheese (low/non fat chive, pinapple flavored are nice), egg whites, canned chicken or tuna. I found mixing the chichen with low fat laughing cow cheese (there are sevaral flavors)to be pretty good instead of mayo. I also added Mrs Dash (non salt) seasoning to the chicken. I added Benefiber non flavored to things in this stage to help keep things moving.

Hi! Congratulations on the weight loss so far. You can do Peanut Butter spread on banana. I know there is alot of fat, however it is more about getting calories& Protein after your surgery at this stage.Try chicken, tuna,& egg salad using low-fat Mayonnaise.< /p>

My doc includes baked fish in the soft foods-- I stocked up on tilapia and went to town.

Cottage cheese, eggs, refried Beans, and my doc included super-steamed/mushy veggies in the soft food mix.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
