The best protein shake ever!!!

Recommended Posts

Jiffy has an all natural Peanut Butter that I use. I understood that is was okay in a shake, the rule my doc says "is if it doesn't slip and slide on a plate, it won't once it gets in your stomach." Hope that helps, I was banded on the 22nd and haven't had any problems with peanut butter.

I recently ordered the PB2 powder online and started using it in my shakes. It only has about 50 calories for 2 tbsp vs. 190 calories for 2 tbsp of regular pb. The directions say to mix 2 tbsp of the powder w/ 1 tbsp of Water, but I mix it with 2 tbsp of water when I'm using it in a shake. You get the Peanut Butter taste without all the extra calories.

Did you have surgery with Dr. Robert Marvin?

He was my MD banded on 2/17/09 with Realize band. I was hoping to find other band pts. with him. It sounds like you have met your goal. I am down 50 lbs but have 175 more to go......

Peanut Butter in a shake is fine because it thickens the shake and is moist enough to slide down. Nuts can not be put in for the shake becasue in a shake you really do not chew.

I went to the kitchen to make the shake for my lunch ( I eat at crazy times)...get everything at the blender and go for the ice...:P:confused:someone finished the ice....so this evening out to the store..should hide the ice from family behind something:sad:

:frown::blink::drool:will make if for breakfast:drool::grouphug:

Adding sugar free butterscotch to Protein Shakes are very good too! Or sf banana too! I make mine with 1/2 cup light soy milk (was told easier on stomach than milk) & 1/2 cup ice.

i finally made this recipe and oh my it is delicious and it does help me with my sweet cravings. But with the exact ingredients that the thread starter put down.....i used those ingredients and one serving of this is already 440 calories yikes!! So im going to have to adjust some of the ingredients, whether its changing to skim milk, and or doing just one Tsp of the peanut butter..

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
