Just Banded 0 Posted November 10, 2010 Are you supposed to wear the lead apron when getting flouro? It's been a while since I had one, and the Dr. rushed me in and out...I didn't think of it until later...
rdowner 0 Posted November 11, 2010 I was not covered with a lead apron, etc. I do not think it is standard procedure (IMHO).
Humming Bird 275 Posted November 11, 2010 Wouldn't a lead apron cover the area they are trying to see?
JanB23 23 Posted November 11, 2010 What is a flouro? Is it like an xray? I have to have a fill under xray in 2 weeks as doc couldn't access my port. Have to go to Day surgery clinic to get it done. I am so looking forward to getting a fill as i am 10 weeks post op with zero in my band and if it wasn't for the scars i would swear i had only dreamt i had WLS. I am struggling with maintaining my weight loss. Up half a kilo down half a kilo - i am going insane! 1 JanB23 reacted to this
annieM 2 Posted November 18, 2010 No, the lead apron would block out what they are trying to see.
Sue Magoo 71 Posted November 18, 2010 Hi: My doc has people put the lead apron on. Your band is up higher, near your ribs, so it's not in the way. The port can be positioned many places, but I don't think they're as interested as looking at the port as they are in looking at your band area so they can see how your pouch and band look when you swallow the barium.
