Hi,

I am only recently banded (10/27).

I don't have any sensation of restriction. Should I?

I haven't pushed it.....I eat a measured amount of food and stop when it is gone or I feel full. I haven't tried to eat more than what I have weighed/measured.

So far, there aren't any foods I can't eat.

I don't have my first fill until 11/22 (although I may wait a week after that because it is the holiday week and I will be out of town and don't want to worry about having issues with my first fill.)

Most of the time, I feel satisfied when I eat. Now, my "head" may still want me to eat more, but I listen to my body and realize I am not really hungry.

You seem to be doing very well, I say go with the flow!!! I think you are smart to delay your first fill til after TG to avoid problems even though many ppl have no restriction til after their 2nd or 3rd fill. Depends on how your doc does his...aggressively or conservatively. Congratulations and welcome to band land!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
