soon2bethin 0 Posted November 10, 2010 I was banded on the 8th also. I am not having very much pain, except my throat is killing me. Just think positive and this will be behind us before long. We are on the road to recovery now and I am so excited!
NKINDLE 0 Posted November 10, 2010 Wow! I'm new to the site and I get banded on 11 November. I'm exicted and nervous at the same time. I'm hoping that I'll be able to return to my desk job on Monday. Is that to soon? How are your engery levels?
A New Me 1152010 0 Posted November 10, 2010 Hello every one i was banded on November 5 2010 you do get full quick on the full liquid diet, every thing is fine with me just a lot of gas and bloating of my stomach.
Borchers 0 Posted November 10, 2010 I was banded on Oct 5th and I have to say having Protein Shakes will take the edge off and make this much easier. Something with 20+ grams of Protein is the best. I have one for Breakfast every day and the one for a snack later. I have been on a straight liquid diet for months before and you can survive but its not the best. Any good store has them. I really like Muscle Milk. Good luck. Remember to listen to your body and stomach. When your full your FULL!
antetz 1 Posted November 11, 2010 I was about to sleep right now but for some reason I feel like i wanna vomit. I feel like when i lay down that there is some liquid goin up my troat. Im gonna try to walk it out.
txrckcrwlr 0 Posted November 11, 2010 I was banded on oct 27. So two weeks post op. I am just now starting to get hungry. I was doing cream based Soups day two. Just ran them through the blender. I had no problems with them, but go by what your dr says you should eat. You can do anything for a few days to a couple weeks. From my understanding weeks 2 through first fill are the worst. I am scheduled for my first fill on nov 30. Can't wait
Samaura 0 Posted November 11, 2010 Hey guys I'm a 30 yr old mom of two kids--6yr old daughter and 1 yr old son. I was banded on 11.8.10. I've been home from the hospital 2 days now and I am sloooowwwwly getting back to normal, I thought it would be quicker but I need to be patient. I still have gas pains in my shoulders and trying hard to get down the recommended 60-80 grams of Protein a day plus 48-64 oz of Water? ?? I take a few sips of the Protein Shake and I'm full. Gotta focus on getting in more fluids but is anyone noticing that they can't burp? I keep feeling like I have to burp but the air just circulates back down through my diaphragm and hurts a little....any ideas???:rolleyes2:

Bugaboo77 18 Posted November 11, 2010 I was also banded on 11-8. I had the same trouble with the burping thing. Better today. I am drinking carnation instant breakfast today and ate SF Jello for dinner. I can't wait to be able to eat normal food! I have less pain today. I haven't taken any pain medicine yet today. Yay! Each day gets better. I can't wait to eat normal textured food, but yet I'm afraid to. I don't want to puke or do the PB or sliming that everyone talks about. OR have anything get stuck! What are you all going to do for Thanksgiving? Try to eat a little turkey, potatoes or just do the fluids?

I have my surgery set up for end of the month and I a nervous about the first few weeks afterwards. I'm on day 8 of protien shakes and clear liquid. I have found if I space the shakes out correct it's not bad. Also I think the warm broth makes you feel full for a little while in between. It's easier when you stay busy. By the time I have surgery in a week I will have one clean house.
7Grijalva7 1 Posted November 11, 2010 I'm scheduled this Tuesday on the 16th. I wasn't aware of the tube they stick down your throat. After the doc said that...I had a lot of second thoughts. Yes its something they will do when Im sleeping but just the thought. Not sure if I can do this...I have never had the will power to stay away from "good food". I'm scared of anxiety attacks just because I want something that I know I cant have. =( I hope I am strong enough to show up for surgery on Tuesday. Everyone keep up the good work. OMG. that tube down my troat is horrible. when i woke up from the surgery my troat is so dry and hurts like hell. they gave me ice chip for that. The operation is great just lil sore but no gas pain at all. I dont know if its natural to get hungry all the time.
