For those of you who have gone through this or are going through this at the moment I need advice. I am content when sitting or laying down but when I stand or go for walks I am having pain that is acting like gas. I am able to go to the restroom after walking and relieve pressure only temporary. I went to the store and got Maalox that only helps temporary. I feel like the walking is creating more gas if that is even possible. What was the average lenght of time you had gas at the beginning until you felt good?

I think i was to 8 days out for the gas to have completely gone away. Try drinking warm liquids and some gas x or phazyme. If you can belch do but dont force it. What are you eating/drinking right now? sometimes the sf stuff causes excess gas as well a dairy ...i dunno but maybe that would help to limit those things. The first few times i ate Beans i thought i was gonna die! keep walking even if it bothers you!

I'm 3 weeks post op and the gas stayed with me for about 2 weeks. I found that walking made mine better and I used lots of Gas-X strips. Friday night I had terrible gas pains - not sure what brought it on again. When I was having it really bad though, laying down was the worst for me. I felt like I had something sitting on my chest.

I forgot to mention that a heating pad worked wonders for me.

Well last night I was feeling like crap and didn't want to eat due to not being hungry. My wife had made chicken and made me a chicken Soup that was put in a blender and mixed a little thicker then the previous Soups that I had been eating. I decided to eat since I know I should eat. As soon as I ate my stomach stopped hurting and it settled my stomach. I also got up this morning and ate some instant oatmeal. I know I am not suppose to but I let it sit there for about an hour so that it would expand before eating it. It went down smooth and settled my stomach once agian not that it was really hurting. I think I had hunger pains not gas pain. I went with my wife to the mall after my 1 week followup. I feel great with no stomach pain what so ever. I heard someone say they had the same issue and after eating something a little heavier they felt better. Friday the doc said I can start eating a little more foods like Cereal eggs etc...

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
