I'm 22 weeks post op and have lost 35 pounds. My Dr says I'm on target but I wish my pounds lost was higher. Am I just being greedy? How much weight did you guys loose around the 22 week mark?

I'm eating like normal - just much smaller portions. I try to get my Protein first.

I had lost around 80 at 22 weeks, however I then proceeded to gain back 50 (but I've re-lost over 40 of that at this point). I'm not sure what to say but if your doc thinks you're on track, then maybe he's right. Slow and steady often wins the race. What is your daily calorie intake and what is your exercise like?

You are doing fine. You don't say how your eating or if your working out. If your not working out, start. It has been key for me in terms of weight loss. You will loose faster if you workout. Also I reccomend a high protien, low fat, low carb eating plan. Again, you are doing fine. These are just suggestions to speed things up a bit.

I was banded on July 13th, so about four weeks after you. I'm now down about 31 pounds. My doctor keeps reassuring me that he doesn't want more than 1-2 lbs a week. I keep focusing on how much better I feel and other non-scale victories-the pants that are huge, the smaller face I see in the mirror, the dr. taking me off the blood pressure medication. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Everyone! I am doing a high Protein low carb diet. I also see a trainer at the gym 2 times a week for strength training and I do my own cardio 3 - 4 times a week. I think I'll step up my cardio routine!

1-2lbs a week. I know we all would like it to come off faster. Are you exercising too? I am aiming for 1-2lbs a week because that means less saggy skin!

I saw your post and just read that you are going to the gym. You do realize that muscle weighs more then fat. So as you build that muscle up it will make the appearance that you are not loosing a great deal but you could be loosing 2lbs of fat and gaining a 1lb of muscle.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
