Sherrie 0 Posted December 21, 2005 How long do you stay on liquids following a fill? I have a fill 3 days before Christmas. I would like to be able to consume at least a little normal food on the big day :-)
Road Queen 0 Posted December 21, 2005 When I had my first fill, my dr had no restrictions on what I ate afterwards. After my fourth fill, they now have 24 hours of liquids. I had my last fill in the morning and did liquids the rest of the day and mushies the day after.
Iluvharleys 15 Posted December 21, 2005 I would check with your doctor's office as each one has different rules. My doctor has me do liquids the remainder of the day of the fill and back to solids the next day. You should follow your doctors rules though.
Firecallie 2 Posted December 21, 2005 What is the purpose of going to liquids after a fill?
paula 4 Posted December 23, 2005 Jini, When we get a "fill", the stomach is squeezed a bit more - and a bit of swelling usually occurs from this procedure. Most doctors require us to have liquids for the first 24 hours, then soft food for the day after that - just so we dont harm anything. Repeating what Betty said earlier - the patient needs to ask their surgeon about post fill diets - each doc has their own rules!
JAYGERL05 0 Posted December 31, 2005 My Dr said 2 days liquids 2 days musshy and then soft foods. I have noticed I seem to have a stricter dr than others. I had to wait 10 weeks before my first fill
MsButterKup23 1 Posted January 4, 2006 The Surgery Center of Richardson says 3 days of liquids, then 3 days of mushies.
