calories are calories?

Recommended Posts

I guess 'feasible' is individual to everyone. Some days I forget to eat until dinner time, but I am really unable to eat all my calories in one meal. So now and again I eat slightly under my calories (which are between 800-900). But I don't do that often, primarily because I get a little tired and I'm unable to workout to my maximum potential because I don't have anything in me.

When I was in grad school (and then working from 9am-9pm) I just carried little Snacks with me. Slim fast bars, Protein bars, sometimes I would just stop at a store (like WaWa) and get a hardboiled egg or some tuna salad. You can always pack a lunch for yourself in the morning in a hot/cold lunchbox and bring something from home.

thank you!

Of course I'm asking a hypothetical question, I plan on going back to school, and will be there for 8 hours a day, what I'm wondering is (I don't really have restriction now) is if this would be feasible? It is just a question going through my mind as to how will I eat with 8 hours of class?

Kelly,

Not sure how going to school for 8 hours is different than working an 8 hour a day job. One assumes there will be breaks in there somewhere. :) The only concession you might have to make is to carry a small insulated lunch bag around with you. My husband takes one of those to work and leaves it on his desk. You can take cheese and crackers, hard boiled eggs, salad...any number of things that would keep you eating on plan.

Calories are not just calories for me but then I'm an insulin resistant diabetic so a day's worth of carbs at one meal would put me into carb overload.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
