Awkward customer 5 Posted November 4, 2010 I have a serious bout of flu at the moment and am feeling very bad. I am coughing every 2 seconds, and sometimes I cough so much my port hurts. Is that anything to worry about? I have had almost no food for days, but this flu bug makes me feel like vomiting, and it is a strange feeling to try to vomit, and for nothing to come up, as there is nothing in my stomach. is the flu a problem for the band? Boo_68 6 Posted November 4, 2010 I can't speak for the coughing, but if your feeling nauseated or vomitting (or dry heaves) call your Doctor for medication...and if needed unfill your band. I just had a horrible experience with the Flu which landed me in the ER for 2 days on IV Phenergan, slipped band on the 3rd day...Emergency Surgery...and 3 days in the hospital after surgery. I didn't think my band could slip so far out, almost 18 months for me. Its just not worth having to go through something so traumatic. Hope you get feeling better soon!!
