LanceBijeaux 6 Posted November 1, 2010 Does anyone feel like there metabolism has change for the better? Reason im asking is I cheated a couple times and I felt like I over done it but I am still losing weight like crazy.
Melissannde 41 Posted November 1, 2010 Congrats on your continued weight loss! A poor choice or two is unlikely to drastically affect weight loss. It's the continuous stepping outside the lines that will sabotage your weight loss goals. By the way, I try not to use the term "cheating" as that implies that we are on a temporary "diet". This isn't temporary, this is a life-style change. It may be just mind-games, but getting away from the diet mind set I find to be helpful. My nurses also tell me there are no "bad foods".. there's only poor, good and better choices.
JMinDallas 1 Posted November 1, 2010 I too at times make 'bad' choices, but still lose weight each week. I think the few not so good choices we make, are countered by the many good choices we are making. I figure this is a lifetime change for me, so why not allow myself a few not so good things. I don't overindulge, but a small piece of something isn't going to kill me or sabotage me. It's when I take lots and lots of HUGE bites that did me in before, and I'm not allowing myself to ever do that again.
vlp1968 83 Posted November 1, 2010 Are you excersising? If you are,, your metabolism should be increasing. I am glad you have had continued weight loss. Keep up the good work.
Melissannde 41 Posted November 1, 2010 One more thought.. a long term bandster that I know (12 years) says if she really wants a food that is on the poor choice list.. she will allow herself 3 bites (bandster sized bites of course). If she can't stop with 3 bites, she doesn't get to have any of that particular food next time. Just another way to control our indulgences.
Apples2 19 Posted November 1, 2010 I've been at goal for 2yrs and my metabolism is way different then when I started this game. I believe the foods you are referring to are what I call "treating" not "cheating". I look forward to throwing special treats into my plan. I could not go through life with any forbidden foods. Just have to allow for them and enjoy. Pecan pie is in my sites for Thanksgiving.
