extraonme 4 Posted November 1, 2010 I had my first fill 10-18 and when she did the fill it was one inch under my largest scar. NOW I can clearly feel it 2 inches ABOVE my largest scar. When you get fills do they fill the exact same spot every time or does it shift? I am aware it is sewn into the stomach wall so this is freaking me out! :wink2:
Mariasha 3 Posted November 1, 2010 Yes the port can move around. Kepp in mind that your body and skin are also changing as you lose weight.
Humming Bird 275 Posted November 1, 2010 The port should be firmly anchored to the lining that covers the muscle layer. The port should not move. The position of the skin is what changes. If the Dr. inserts the needle when you are laying down, that position will be different than when you try to locate the port when you are sitting up or standing. ElfiePoo 109 Posted November 1, 2010 Mine moved...but only in that it tilted slightly. If yours is actually moving 1-2", you might have it checked out. I wouldn't think that's a good thing. .
Melissannde 41 Posted November 1, 2010 What I always think is the port isn't where they access it. The position does shift some between standing and lying down. If you're concerned talk to your doctor and/or nurses.
BetsyB 9 Posted November 1, 2010 It really doesn't migrate, per se, because it's firmly anchored to muscle. However, as you lose body fat, the position of the muscle changes
