Hi All, I'm getting in the home stretch of completing my 6 month program. Only 2 more visits!! I mentioned it to my hubby and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I said I've been telling you since June that I'm going through the process. We had a heart to heart and he is starting to come around about me having the surgery. He is worried of course about the surgical part and me losing too much weight. Is there any such thing (wink...wink :-) :wink2:Glad we talked and I'll keep you all posted.

P.S. - which of the Protein Shake providers sends out the free samples? I saw it in a post a while ago and can't remember.

Thanks for listening.....

I am......thatgurl......

continued success to everyone...keep on....keepin' on!

Hi there! I started pre op shakes today and I am scheduled for Nov. 15th. When I told my hubby about the official date he acted like it was a routine check up! LOL They don;t get it and I think my husband is afraid of me changing or maybe not taking his sh## anymore after I have more confidence. I got samples from Bariatirc Choice and also from fusion Jay Robb also has shakes and for s & H of 5 dollars they will send you 5 sample shakes to try. I like them, they are my favorite Protein Shakes no splenda they use stevia.

You can get free samples from Protein Freeze.com also.

unjury will send you a sample pack with two of each flavor, a thermometer, and a little plastic bottle for around $23.

thanks for your responses! there's so much information to take in when you're getting this done and the old memory is not as good as it used to be (and it wasn't much then).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
