Strange thing happened after lapband ... I don't really like potatoe chips anymore. I was a big fan before the band, but now ... not so much. YAY! Have to admit though, I linger at the Frito display before walking away. LOL:wink2:

If you really must indulge...look for Pop chips. They're not fried, not baked.. but popped. Much lower in calories than regular and much tastier than baked.

I can find small bags (100 calorie) at Books-a-Million and larger bags at Target.

Pop chips are awesome! I have found that I am able to eat any type of chip but since my band I dont like chocolate anymore and I used to be a chocoahalic....

I used to think the baked potato chips were a good snack. For me they are a problem because I would just eat them all at once. They really don't serve a purpose, just calories with no redeaming value. If you are going to have carbs have an apple or some grapes.

I *love* chips but they don't love me. Not sure how we got this mindset in our society that eating junk food is normal and to not eat it is depriving ourselves but I've decided that I deserve better. Now when I feel in the need for a snack, I'm reaching for a healthy alternative.

I'm only 2 weeks post-op so I haven't even thought of chips yet, but I love Popchips. Amazon has some great deals on Popchips every few months for the individual bags. My whole family enjoys them.

I too, am guilty of indulging in eating potato chips, you cannot have just one, as they say!

I've always had a weakness for Kettle brand Baked Salt and Vinegar chips. I have only had them once since I was banded and I allowed myself 6 chips. It was enough to kill the craving and didn't seem to affect my weight loss at all.

I like Sun chips Garden Salsa. Only indulge once in a while as I have no will power over them.

I used to buy a packet containing 6 bags of crisps (which is what we call potato chips in England) and eat them all in one go, sometimes as sandwiches with bread and butter and crisps in the sandwiches. Now, although I can eat 6 bags if I want to, it feels uncomfortable. I can feel the crisps just sitting there in the pouch and not going anywhere, which encourages me not to have too many.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
