Time off of Work

Recommended Posts

This may have been asked before so if it has please forgive me. How long were you off of work to recover from surgery after the lap band? My surgery is scheduled for this coming Thursday and I am so nervous.

I took off one week. It was just perfect, I didn't need any more than that.

Good Luck to you on Thursday !

Thank you for replying back, I just hear that you have the surgery like on a Friday and then back to work on Monday and to me that just seems so soon. My mom had the surgery and I remember being super sore to even walk. I just dont want my dr having me go back if I dont feel up to it.

I agree with Firewheel, if you can take a week, do it.

I had my surgery on Thursday and was back to work on Monday. I was sore, but I have a desk job, so I didn't have too much moving to do.

Good luck!

It really depends on the type of work you do. I work in my home on the phones so I did a little work when I got home from surgery and went back full time the day after. Some may think I'm cheating since I can work in my PJs but I think if you have sick time that will go away with the new year, take a week and relax. It is major surgery.

Thank you all this really gives me an idea as to how much time I will take off. I have a desk job as well but I just dont want to sit there miserable all day. I will take a week maybe 2 if the doc will allow me to:)

I work as a Direct Support Professional (Similiar to Nurse aid). I took ten days off from work. I wasn't able to do any lifting for several weeks, and was limited on my duties, but it was good to get back to work. I would say it depends on what you do for a living.
