Just wondering if ANYONE banded can eat a cheeseburger? I am two months banded and really miss those.

I mean a real one with a bun.

I am 6 weeks out and was craving one something fierce yesterday. I normally don't eat cheeseburgers so I don't know why I was wanting it as bad as I was.

I ended up ordering a big mac snack wrap and just ate the patty out of it. It was only half a patty with cheese but it certainly helped the craving.

Thinking about a cheeseburger - I miss taking a big bite of a sandwich (or cheese burger, chicken sandwich, etc).

There is something that is fulfilling to my brain to take a big bite or a full mouthful.

I've eaten them post banding and before getting to the fill level I have now, but I use the "thin buns".

I could probably eat part of one now, but definitely not the whole thing with the bread.< /p>

if you haven't had too many fills it might be ok. I could eat a burger until I had my 2nd fill. I usually take the top bun off but there were times I didn't. Small bites and chew chew chew, i can pretty much eat anything, bread i think is the hardest tho... Good luck!

I was banded 8/2/10 and have 5cc in a 10cc band... I had 1/2 a Ruby Tuesday Burger on Saturday. I guess my band restricts how much I can eat not what I can eat !

When I want things like that I think of how sad, sick and guilty I feel afterwards.

It's quite often I crave angry angus burgers from hungry jacks. It's funny because I just really like the sauce they put on them lol...Mustardy mmmm...and like how it goes with the tomatoes.

Thinking about eating bread makes me sick. It's like I have the phantom stuck feeling my throat. Just walking past the bread aisle in the store gives me that feeling. The smell and the taste of a cheeseburger is wonderful; however, swallowing it is a different story. :huh2:

I usually eat a burger with no bun, but last weekend we were at McDonald's and I had a cheeseburger with the bun and it was really good! I only ate half of it, but it definitely helped my craving.

I'm six weeks postop and afraid to even go near bread. Took one bite of pizza and regretted it for a couple of hours. I am a sucker for a McRib Sandwich and plan to eat one (or part of one) as soon as they come to my area. I do plan to just push the meat away from bread and only it eat. Hope it works.

NO WAY, one of my favorite foods in the whole world is chesseburgers and subs, and I can't eat any of them anymore. I am 8 months post op and I have lost around 58lbs. I only have 2cc's in a 10cc band, I think I am a freak of nature, I can't eat that many things that others with the same fill can eat. I guess maybe that is good, but sometimes it can be so fustrating.

OMG Piperboo - I know exactly what you mean. Before surgery I never realized how complex the joy of eating is - we all know it's not just taste, but smell too...however, now I've learned it is just as important about the "big bite" being satisifying, the chew a few times and gobble down...the texture, etc... Of course, that just gives us more demons to temper, but I've found the ability somehow. It's very interesting the things I'm learning about "eating" (and drinking - oh man not drinking during a meal is almost torture...)!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
