Do you have a 14 cc band?

If you have a 14cc band, where are you in terms of being full? At what restriction did you really start losing weight?

I have a 14cc Realize band and when I 'complained' about not having any restriction after my many fills, was told that most Realize band patients do not experience any restriction at all until they get to about 7cc. That was my experience. At 7cc I did have the occasional stuck feeling if I took too big a bite but that was about it. At 8cc I have to pay attention to the size of my bites and how well I chew and I have some limited sense of 'enough' so I think I'm close but not quite there. I know that at 8.75cc I was overfilled so my sweet spot is somewhere in between.

I have Realize band 14cc and at 8.5 you really have to pay attention of what and how you are eating.

At 7 cc i was quickly full for at least 3 weeks. Now i eat really small portions of food 3 or 4 or maybe 5 times a day.I can eat but i have to think before i do and be concentrated while eating and i dont pick up whatever i find in front of me.The most important thing is that i cant eat out of boredom.

I must be abnormal because I am at 9cc and right after my 3rd fill and totally forgot that I wasn't suppossed to eat and had salmon and veggies for lunch less than an hour and a half after and I felt absolutely no restriction at all. I'm a little discouraged but just going to stay the course and hope for the next time.:)

I have the 14cc band. I am at 3.5cc right now after 3rd fill. I have very good restriction. losing about 2-3lbs per week, which works for me. I can get stuck on a hard boiled egg if I dont chew well enough. So far I haven't pb or slimed but i am waiting for that special time. LOL

I have a 14 cc AP band - and it is filled with 10mls. I had more fills than that, but some of the Fluid disappeared into the tubing and the consultant assures me this means I only have 10ml in the band. It wasn't until 10ml, 7 months after the operation, that I felt real restriction.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
