ElfiePoo 109 Posted October 23, 2010 Yep, it's because the band is being pulled a bit more taught. As you lose, it will go away again. Mine is back with a vengeance since getting my fill last tuesday. .
marmotsgrl 0 Posted October 25, 2010 So I just had my first fill yesterday and am doing really good but I have noticed that my left shoulder hurts again...is that normal after a fill??? Hopefully you aren't having this problem....I had a lot of pain in my left shoulder at about a month after surgery. One day it was so bad that I went home to bed and I finally went to the ER. I ended up getting the tube from the band to the port shortened because the tube was rubbing on my diaphragm causing "reffered" pain in my shoulder. So I would say if it doesn't go away and it is really painful you should bug your surgeon about it.
jingleboob 5 Posted October 25, 2010 If I eat too much my shoulder hurts like hell when I breathe... asked the surgeon and he said what marmot said above. Basically the band is very near the diaphragm, and if you eat too much and expand your pouch it can push the band to irritate the diaphragm and that horrible shoulder pain is really referred pain from the diaphragm. It's a good indicator that I've eaten too much, so I'm learning what it feels like before I get to that point, because it HURTS until all the food has left the pouch and for a while after.
