HELP!! 2 weeks post op and strong abdominal pain!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm hoping that nothing is wrong but I have started having very strong abdominal pains today. It feels like bad stomach cramps without any nausea or diareah. I haven't had any pain like this so far. I had the gas and soreness for the first week or so and retuned to work this past monday with little to no discomfort and this started out of nowhere today. I have been watching my eating, still in the mushies stage, though I am starting to get my appetite back though. The pain is around my incisions and below into my lower abdomen. I even took some of the percocet from my post op prescription and it is having little effect.

Has anyone experienced this, could it still be the gas? I plan to call my Dr. tomorrow but have read that all kinds of different pains are not unheard of. Hoping for some support here.

Thanks much!!

Could it be lactose intolerance from your Protein Drinks?

You could be constipated? When was the last time you relieved your bowels?

I haven't had any trouble with bowel movements, and still taking milk of magnesia and mylanta to help relieve any gas.

Went to the doctor today and he also believes it may be development of lactose intolerance. Funny thing is I have never been intolerant before and have been eating cottage cheese and same Protein shakes for about a week on the mushy diet. Doctor said it could have just started and to cut out the dairy products and monitor any changes.

The pain is much better this afternoon, but yesterday was really gut-wrenching. Thanks for the thoughts!!!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
