To fill or not to fill that is the question..

Recommended Posts

OK so I was banded on July 15th I have lost a total of 46 pounds 26 since the surgery. I had a fill 6 weeks ago been doing OK still a bit hungry between meals. I have never been stuck never PB'd - nothing! Well last week; 5 weeks into a fill I started to fill up faster and stay full longer. The only thing that I have changed is I eat Breakfast around 9:30 - 10:30 so about 1 hour later than i had been and I have been drinking hot herbal tea instead of the Decaf iced coffee. I dont want to mess this up I'm losing weight with no side effects. Currently have 5cc's in the 10cc band.

any words of wisdom?

I'm not really sure why there is a question... If everything is going fine currently, and you are losing at least 1 to 2 lbs a week, feeling comfortably satisfied, why would you fill? Sounds like you are doing fine. Are you feeling pressure to change things up??

If your staying satisfied between meals, I think you are in a good place. I wouldn't get a fill.

geezz I just did the math and I've lost 1.85 pounds per week. Sometime i feel like this is so slow..I thought I was a slow loser, but I guess I'm right on target and maybe should not mess with this. I can't believe after what I have read on this site that I have not had ANY side effects! I feel very lucky!

If you keep up that average you will be at your goal weight by April. You will be skinny in time for summer!! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
