help with sleeping after Surgery

Recommended Posts

I wanted to share a few helpful things that helped with sleeping the first few nights after the surgery.

- sleeping in a lazy boy recliner

- neck pillow (like the ones you use for traveling)

Once you're able to sleep in bed, keep body pillows on each side of you to help you from sleeping on your side or stomach, keeps you in your place.

Good advice, but I have to be honest I came straight home from the hospital, plopped into bed(they gave me anti-nausea meds that made me sleep), and slept on my side and stomach for about five hours and every night after that with really no discomfort. I only had two incisions I don;t know if that was why, but the one is pretty big (like 3 inches). I guess everyone is different.

WoW! I wish I had known this before my surgery 8 mos. ago! sleeping was AWFUL! I would sit on edge of bed & just fall over on my side & wherever I landed was where I stayed for the rest of the night! Glad you're passing this on!
