jrenae 0 Posted December 18, 2005 Hello everyone, I just was banded yesterday dec 16. I was unable to sleep at all last night. I had a lot of gas on my stomach and in my back area. I woke up every 30minutes. Is this normal. Also, i havent had the urge to eat anything. I had to make my self eat 1 can of broth yesterday and 1 can so far today. I fill so full. I mean really, really stuffed. I guess that's good in a sense. The pain is bearable, but its very uncomfortable. My husband has been a big help. So anyone thinking about the band, please have some sort of support team. Does anyone have pointers for me for the next few days?
HarleyNana 10 Posted December 18, 2005 Welcome to bandland and I wish you luck on your journey. You're lucky to have a good DH. Take care and let him pamper you a few days longer.
Lisa*in*NJ 0 Posted December 20, 2005 Hi and congrats on being banded! I was just banded on the 13th and had horrible gas pain. I would walk and walk my home to get rid of the pain. I had it bad in my left shoulder and neck. What finally got rid of it was a nice long-slow walk OUTSIDE this past Sunday-5 days after surgery. Since then it's like a switch was turned off-no gas pain at all! As far as wanting to eat, I had to force myself to take in liquids for a couple days after surgery-I didn't want to end up back in the hospital on an IV. I keep a little chart on the counter of all of my consumed ounces. Gatorade was really enjoyable for me. Just keep sipping ALL DAY! Finally today I am actually hungry, I just had a 1/2 of Milk Choc Slim Fast high Protein, no sugar shake with some 1% milk in it and it was awesome. Just take it slow you'll get there, and the people on this board will help you! Good luck!
