Charlotte Chat Time!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi gang,

I was great seeing all of you to (Melissa, Kerah,Angie, Kim, Kathy, Karen) today. We missed the others that weren't able to make it. Hopefully we'll see you next month.

So we all agreed it is time to get chatty! Easy for me to do!

I made Cookies this afternoon. I can't taste them because f my cold, but that didn't stop me from eating the cookie dough! OH my stomach hurts! What a fool I am. I have desided that today is the last day I am ever making Cookies again as long as I LIVE!!! I've always liked the odugh better than the baked ones anyway, so what was I thinking!

Had a little chicken parm at the party we went to and a bite of fudge. Now it's time to relax and hit the boob tube.

Karen I can't wait to hear how the concert went tonight!

Have a good night.

Dianne, did you go shopping at all? We didn't end up leaving until 4:30 so I could have gone shopping with you for an hour after lunch today...wish I had known. It was sad watching you drive South...I was so tempted to follow!!!

lunch was super-fun! I got home and the kids hung the ornaments on the tree.

Someone e-mail me a pic! I'll get it posted if you don't know how. Who took one? Dianne and Angie? Maybe I'll start a Charlotte Bandsters picture thread for our monthly lunch pics. We can see them in succession and watch ourselves shrink!

Jan 28th, 11:30am at TGIFridays on Harris Blvd at University. Everyone come!!!

OH how nuts it was shopping!! I went to Kohls and got another pair of pants, much needed. Checkout was no problem getting into the shopping center and a spot was no problem. BUT LEAVING!! It took me at least 30 minutes to leave the parking lot!!!

I decided that I'm not shopping on a Saturday before Christmas ever again!

I guess I decided a lot today, no mre baking, no more shopping...lol...I better go to bed before I cut something else that I enjoy doing out of my life.

Kathy, I'll send you that picture in 2 minutes...

Diane we went shopping in the same shopping center I think. I went to target, petco and that new music store. Karah tried to talk me into a Jr drum set there....I defiently need a bigger house before we get her a drum set. LOL And you were right....getting out of the parking lot was a pain in the keester. Hubby laughed at me when I came in so late. Karah tried to talk me into a mommy and me movie today, but we were suppouse to go that party tonight. We tried calling him all day...and then got ready and went over...house was dark, so apparently no party lol. So hubby and I went out to eat. A great mexican place on East Blvd. Figured I was already dressed up might as well stay out a while. Karah was asleep when we got home, so guess will check her head in the morning. I don't want to wake her to change the bandages now. It was great to see everyone today.

Oh forgot, I never did explain the "legend of the pickle" . We made these in our day care program all day Friday. I want to say that I've researched it...and asked Germans about it...and there is no such thing...but Americans have taken off with it...and have decided to think its a Old world Germany tradition and families there do this. Anyway there are glass pickle ornaments you can purchase and her is the suppoused legend:

Start this tradition in your home...legend says that the pickle, a symbol of good luck, was the last ornament placed on the tree. The first child to find the pickle on Christmas morning was rewarded with an extra gift left by St. Nicholas. This tradition encourages children to appreciate all the beautiful ornaments on the tree rather than rushing to see what santa has left for them"

Anyway it cute, but totally not true.

Christmas program was awesome! Now that we've made it through the nervousness of the first performance, I'm thinking it's likely to be even better this evening :)

Pat that would be awesome.

Karen, Glad to hear it went so well, I bet tonight will be even better.

Melissa, We were at the same center! And I always though the pickle was an Italian myth.

I sent both November's meeting and Decembers meetings to Kathy to post, someday maybe I'll learn how to post.

My cold is even worse today!!! I need to get rid of this, to much to do this week!!

Kathy thanks for the pics....I don't think we got together in Oct because of the fall fests and stuff going on. I think you have them all. You go girl!!! I wonder if we could get someone to make that a sticky for us so we don't loose it since it will only get updated once a month? Thoughts?

Ok so Good Morning NC...I am at work been here for an hour and needed to take a little chat break. :)

Anything exciting going on today?

My dog got under the tree last nigth and unwrapped a present that wasn't even hers. She got into a box of choc and this is the second time this year. UGH..she was sick we left this morning but I think she will be ok. We left her in her kennel tis morning which is not something she is use to. What a way to start off a monday morning.

Hope everyone is doing good....

Our Christmas performance was even better last night than it was on Saturday evening. The Holy Spirit was all over that church, and I think everyone was moved to tears at one point or another. Someone even accepted Jesus as their personal Savior! God is so awesome!

Between choir practices and 4 days in bed with a sinus infection, everything is late for me this year. Mailed cards and gifts will be late, and we're skipping the tree this year.

I love the picture thread, thanks Kathy! It is so cool to watch the incredibles shrink!!!

Kim our dog got sick today to, I have no idea why.

Karen that is awesome about your concert I wish I could have made it.

I stayed in jammies all day yesterday. Today I feel like crud and the tummy isn't behaving. Finished antibiotics yesterday. Went to chiropractor today and she said I have phemonia! Isn't that lovely. Then I spoke with a friend and she told me that I really needed to be careful because of my port and that sometimes phenomia can cause staf infections. Anyway she scared me. I'm giving this until Wednesday and then I'm calling the doc again.

I still have at least 30 people to shop for..AHHH and I have no energy! Any tips?

Dianne, it sounds like staying in your PJs is exactly what you need to be doing. I hope you feel better soon!

As for a shopping idea for 30 people, I have two words for you .... gift cards :)

Diane: Yeppers gift cards is what I'd do at this point. I really hope you feel better soon, keep us updated.

Karen: glad to hear that the pagent went so well. I was in marathon gift making for teachers and Karah's class mates last night. I'm all clayed out now.

Kathy its great to see everyone else shrinking...but can you photo edit mine...I look like I'm expanding and not shrinking like the rest of you! :)

Kim: Yeah our dog is stupid too, we can't put any "food" type gifts under the tree or anything that is scented, he ate part of a scented candle last year.

Paul went out shopping yesterday and someone hit is car in the parking lot and left...fortuantly its an old car and there wasn't that much damage. And I came out of work today only to discover that my tire on my van was COMPLETELY flat. Thankfully there is a Discount Tire Co within walking distance. They were nice enough to go out to my van and put enough air in the tire so I could drive to their garage. And then they removed the big ole nail and repaired it. And this is the best part...it was FREE. I was shocked, and I told them, but I didn't buy these tires here. They said it was a courtousy thing and that to just keep them in mind when I need tires. Wow. And looking at their prices they were good. So if anyone needs any tires, I recomend them. They were super nice. (see free = good word of mouth advertising) Oh and I also ran over part of Paul's Grizzwald christmas decorations...(he is still pouting and fussing that I can't back straight out of the driveway. LOL)

Well think I'm going to hit the sack.

Night.

Melissa

Saw my PCP & officially started my 6 month supervised diet 07/26/24. She just told me to eat less carbs & sugar, use the air fryer and not fry my foods in grease, and to try to walk 30 minutes 3 days a week & if I can't do that (and I cannot), to walk 10 minutes daily. Told me to walk fast enough that my heart rate is raised.  She didn't give me a number as far as calories though. A year or so ago I was doing low carb/sugar free and keeping my calories at 1800 or below. She said I should up my cals to 2000 at that time, so that's what I'm shooting for now.
Hubby walked with me today. He's in pretty bad shape so I was surprised he wanted to. We walked down the gravel road at a pretty good pace (for us LOL). 10 minutes walking and my heart rate was 115bps according to my Fitbit and 125bps according to his pulsometer. Either way, it was elevated and I was breathing hard. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it's a start. We'll do it again tomorrow. 😁
I should be hearing from the surgeon soon. She said if I didn't, to call him next week. Since I HAVE to do the 6 month diet & that's going to put me into January by the time it's done, I'm hoping the surgeon will let me do all my testing in January. I don't want to do it all now and have my deductible get met, only to have to pay the deductible again in January or February for my surgery. Praying that things go the way I hope. 🙏

Factors Affecting the Growth of the Alternative Sweeteners Industry:
Health Consciousness: The increasing awareness among individuals about the health issues linked to high sugar consumption, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, is supporting the market growth. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious and seeking products that can provide sweetness without the negative health effects associated with sugar. This shift in consumer preferences is leading to a greater demand for low-calorie and natural sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol. These sweeteners offer the added benefit of having minimal impact on blood glucose levels, making them suitable for diabetic and health-conscious individuals.
Technological Advancements: Innovations in the production and formulation of alternative sweeteners are impelling the market growth. Advancements in biotechnology and food science are leading to the development of high-intensity sweeteners with improved taste profiles and functional properties. Innovations in fermentation processes enhance the production efficiency and quality of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit. These technological improvements are making alternative sweeteners more appealing to both manufacturers and consumers. Enhanced stability, solubility, and sweetness intensity allow these sweeteners to be used in a wide range of products, ranging from beverages to baked goods.

Besides this, there is an increase in the demand for low-calorie and sugar-free alternatives that support weight management and overall wellness.
