sekinj 0 Posted October 17, 2010 Hey, I got my surgery 7 wks ago. I healed up and got my first fill at 4 weeks, then went back 2 wks later since it was not tight enough. For about 2 days after the second fill I could not keep anything but about two bites down. I just "spat up" (no real stomach acid, just stuck in my throat). Then half way through the third day I was able to eat a little more, but then really threw up for the first time. Ever since that I've been able to eat about 1 cup of food, and have not had any problems with it getting stuck. I get full fast and stop eating, so that is good, it is just that the sudden change rather worried me. Could I have I damaged/loosened something when I threw up? It feels like it opened it up or something and I'm hoping that is not bad...
annieM 2 Posted October 18, 2010 Throwing up once isn't going to damage anything. What most people do after throwing up is go back to liquids for a day to let your pouch rest. Then you should be fine again. Eating solids after throwing up can just lead to throwing up again since you may have gotten a bit swollen. Just take it easy.
