brittneyallyse 0 Posted October 17, 2010 I had my surgery on September 28th and I never felt my band. Like you, I also felt my port but never the band. I didn't feel the swelling but I knew it was there because I didn't have an appetite and I'm 2 weeks away from my first fill and the band still feels non existing. JennaJ221 2 Posted October 17, 2010 U won't feel ur band. The surgery is to "install" it. Its usually empty bc this is the healing time. 2 weeks after..usually when ur more healed u go to ur follow up and get a small fill and most drs fill a lil each visit til u feel more restriction. This is all bc if swelling and stuff..they can't just fill u from the get go bc u might not be able to swallow ur own spit. So its a process..while I was losing a lil all the while..I hit my sweet spot and really felt it after my 3rd fill..about 2 months after the surgery..that's when the weight loss really accelerated..good luck and lapband requires patience patience patience
