tko7 0 Posted October 15, 2010 hi, Today my doctor took me off two of my blood pressure medications - after only 2 1/2 wks post op. Can't believe I've already lost 21 lbs. Hopefully I will be off the last one soon. Starting to feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel - just want to be healthy and active. Trish
elcee 3,341 Posted October 15, 2010 That's great news. Just be aware that it can go back up. I got taken off meds in March as it dropped so low I collapsed and ended up in emrgency.Last couple of months it has been creeping back up. Last Monday it hit 180/100 so I am now back on meds. The best thing to do is make sure you get it checked regularly.
BetsyB 9 Posted October 15, 2010 Yep, I agree with Elcee. I was taken off, but am back on again, albeit at half the dose I used previously. I have a family history of hypertension--even among normal-weight family members. So I keep a close eye on the numbers now.
