One of my nurses said that popcorn is considered a "soft" or slider food. In general, not recommended as something that will keep you full.

Are you getting stuck on it?

Wow, I am 10 weeks post-op and I have been scared to even try popcorn. But, it sounds like people are doing ok with it soooo...maybe a movie and popcorn are in my future

I've had this question also. We have popcorn Day every Thursday at my office and I haven't tried it yet, since getting the band in early September. Will try it tomorrow!

i tried some this evening and it was good no complications but i do remember the dietician saying it was a slider food. I was just wondering how people are doing with it

The only problem I had was that it went down far too easily. It is definitely a slider food.< /p>

It's a slider food. It breaks down very quickly...even if you don't chew well.

popcorn may be a slider food, but it is also a whole grain.

Let's not forget that. :)

Goes down too well. Only have it if I go to a movie and then I get a kids meal. Small popcorn, Water or iced tea. and I choose the trail mix instead of candy.

$12 for a ticket, $7 for the snack! UGH

This is great news to me. I've been scared to try it. My husband has been wanting to go to a movie, but I've just been avoiding the whole thing. Now I can go get a kids portion and enjoy. We use to go every week to every other week. I think I will surprise hubby with a trip to the movies this weekend.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
