Movie Stars in my house!!

Ronny Cox - Captain Bogamil in Beverly Hills Cop and he was Kinsey in Stargate

Beverly D'Angelo - Chevy Chase wife in the Vacation movies. She is just as beautiful in person.

Ned Beatty - Starred in Deliverance with Ronny, Jon Voight, and Burt Reynolds. He was the one that had to "SQUEAL LIKE A PIG!"

All three of the above movie stars are in my house recording a song for a benefit CD. HOW COOL IT THAT?

That is SO COOL!! Are you trying to act all normal like you have movie stars in your home every day?

What does one serve movie stars anyways? Holy crap, I'm giddy for you... :D

Why are they at your house? I'm confused. Personal friends of yours? Have your people call their people and get back to us, darling.

FOr those that don't know my sweetie is a singer/songwriter and he has his own state of the art recording studio in our home. I mean it is about 2500 square feet of space. HUGE!! It takes up half our house. LOL!! Anyway, we periodically have people come in and do projects and this makes us money. Ronny Cox has been in a lot lately. He did his latest CD in our studio. He is a great singer/songwriter as well. Anyway, his good friend Ned Beatty and Beverly D'Angelo are doing a rendition of "16 Guns, What do you get" for some benefit CD.

Yes I knew they were coming but I was so nonchalant about it. I was all "giddy" inside meeting Bev and Ned today. They are so cool. Just really sweet people. I talked alot with Ned's wife.

Anyway, it was a blast having them in the house. I gave them Water and veggie crudette'. They didn't really eat because they were recording and singing. But the water was much appreciated.

Here is a couple of pics to enjoy.

Here is Bev and the Producer, DUB of the session. Don't know his real name. That is what everyone was calling him. He has produced HUGE HUGE people. Bryan Adams is one I can remember right now. He was a sweetie too.

How awesome was that?!?! Kudos to you for staying so calm. Celebs like it when you treat them like a normal everyday person. (Or so I've heard - LOL)

I'm glad you all had fun! And being the huge Stargate fan that I am, I recognized Ronny Cox straight away. How fun it would've been to chat it up with him!

Ned forget his guitar here last night so he called this morning and swung by to pick it up. His wife Sandra and he stopped by and Ned and I chatted endlessly about Kentucky (my home state) and how growing up there was so cool. He plays a washtub bass. I told him that my grandmoter would kick his sorry butt if he were to have put a hole in her good washtub. We laughed about that. I told him that was my swimming pool for the first 5 years of my life.

He and Sandy are just the coolest people. They wanna come and visit again the next time they are in the city. They live on the 'mountain' according to Sandy. Not sure where exactly but it is within 4 hours drive of here.

Ned gave me his personal CD of old bluegrass cover tunes. I can't wait to play it. He made a special point of coming back after they walked out of the house to give me the CD. What a cool guy. Sandy is a hoot as well.

Ronny is like an old friend now. He has very kind and soft eyes. I have known him for almost 2 years now. What a thrill it is.

Ya know I get all giddy inside when I meet celebrities, but I don't show it. Yes, they do love it when you treat them like normal people. Because let's face it they are normal people. THey just have their lives out there for us all to pick apart.

Anyway, it was an uplifting experience at a time when I could use some uplifting. It really puts things into perspective.

Happy Holidays, Merry CHristmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah

and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

HUGS EVERYONE!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
