I am new to this group. I was "banded" last week, Wednesday, Oct 6th. I have been home recovering. Doing good. I am on liquid diet stage and starting to run out of things to "eat". I am looking for support from others and ideas on how to forge ahead and foods to eat. I return to work next week and have all day meetings that I know will be a challenge. Looking forward to advise, encouragement and good conversation.:smile2:

Welcome!

How are you feeling?

As far as things to "eat," I found herbal teas with honey to be very comforting, and they take a long time to sip. Are you on Clear Liquids or any liquids? If you are allowed Protein Drinks I would recommend the Myoplex french vanilla with 25gm of Protein. It's not as vile as some of the other protein drinks. In fact, it's rather tasty and I'm able to get it at my local supermarket. Propel is another nice drink that's refreshing and portable for meetings. (I'm sure you can find more food suggestions in the food section of this forum)

Good luck on your journey!!

Hey there. I was just banded Monday and I, too, am on a clear liquid diet... which I have been on since October 4th. It's getting a little old!

I tend to just stick to Jello, chicken base, and sugar free tropical popsicles. What else is there, really?

I start back to work on Sunday and I'm on my feet all day, running around ...so that should be quite interesting!

Feel free to PM me if you ever wanna chat!

Amy

I am doing pretty good. I have a little pain once in a while. Twinges. I can definately tell if I have overdone. I am not used to sitting around a lot. I am eating the full liquid diet. I had cream of wheat with vaniall Protein and skim milk. Cream Soup, sugar free fat free chocolate pudding with protein added. Sugar free, fat free appleasauce with Protein Powder added. Sprite 0 with protein powder added. Hot cocoa with protein powder added. These are all from a menu given to me by my doctor's office I have to stay on this for another week at least. I have my first follow up appt on Friday. Does anyone have any other ideas for this stage?

You are doing great! I was getting horrible headaches from not having anything to eat of substance so I started the Soup at hand with the teeny star noodles...it helped me tremendously. My favorite food which I started about two weeks after surgery is chili from Wendys....I am an addict. :-) The large has 28 grams of Protein. It is the perfect quick lunch that I can grab when I am out and about or in a hurry and don't have time to cook.

I have heard great things about Dr Hu - I am sure you will do great!

Kim

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
