Terrilen 0 Posted December 16, 2005 Ever since my first fill which has been almost a month now, I have not been able to keep solids down no matter how hard I have tried to introduce them! I have PB'd and gotten sick so much I think my band must be swollen because now I am not even doing well on Soups. Would I know it if my band had slipped? I have been PB'ing like crazy and I do not see my Dr until the 21st of this month. I called and told them what was going on and that was the earliest they could get me in! Any words of wisdom? Anwyn 0 Posted December 16, 2005 I would immediately switch to all liquids for 3 days to see if you can get the swelling down. Then, if you feel an improvement, take it very slowly with thicker liquids or mushies until your appointment. It sounds like you may need an unfill. Any time you PB you should go on liquids for at least a day or two. Otherwise you can get into a vicious cycle where the swelling never goes down. Feel better soon! HarleyNana 10 Posted December 16, 2005 Get a slight unfill immediately! My mom just had an upper GI today and is now on medication for the esophagus inflammation.
I'llsucceed 1 Posted December 16, 2005 I would call you DOc again & say you must get in. If they still can't than defineitly all liquids untill next week. You can do this- no vegs in Soups or anything- just liquid. You'll be fine once you have a slight unfill. Good Luck!
CCBSTX 0 Posted December 17, 2005 I agree with the above! Schedule an unfill...
chichigirl 1 Posted December 17, 2005 liquids of course are essential right now, as everyone else has mentioned, as is an unfill. Try sipping warm broth, the warmth can be very soothing and it is still a clear liquid. Avoid any kind of juice that may be too thick or have any pulp. Even the smallest particle right now, can be very irritating to your stoma. Sorry you're having such a rough time. Hope you feel better soon. Take care and keep us posted, please. MsButterKup23 1 Posted December 17, 2005 I agree, it's time for an unfill. If you don't take care of this you face possibly losing your band!
